Tesla 's sales in Germany plummeted in July, with the company selling just 1,110 vehicles, a 55.1% drop compared to the same period last year, according to data released by Germany's Road Traffic Authority (KBA) on Tuesday .
The electric car maker's performance in Germany has been on a downward trend throughout 2025, with total sales in the January-July period falling 57.8% to 10,000 vehicles compared to the same period in 2024.
Tesla's sharp decline comes amid overall growth in Germany's electric vehicle market. KBA reported that the total number of newly registered electric vehicles in Germany rose 58% to 48,614 in July.
The contrast between Tesla's performance and Germany's broader electric vehicle market highlights the challenges the company currently faces in this traditionally important European market.
